YACHT DETAILER – Yacht detailer needed for large yacht service, repair, and sales operation.  Candidate must have background and experience in general yacht maintenance especially cleaning, detailing, compounding/waxing, and polishing. Thorough knowledge of specific products and procedures for proper care of yacht paint, brightwork, and associated hardware is necessary. Detail oriented team player who can work independently as well as with a group with good customer service skills is preferred.


2+ years of experience required. Marine experience is a plus.


Provides Yacht Detailing functions and assists in the preparation of all vessels.

A Yacht Detailer specializes in the cleaning and aesthetic maintenance of boats. In this job, there will various duties, including cleaning the boat in detail, applying wax, and working to make the boat look like new.

Job Duties:

  • This position is responsible for maintaining proper detailing standards for vessels, display and service
  • Wash boats using cleaning solutions, water, cloths and brushes.
  • Wipe down surfaces as appropriate.
  • Vacuum interior of vessel to remove debris or dirt.
  • Clean upholstery rugs, glass and other surfaces.
  • Safely used all hand and power tools, including power washer, buffer, and grinder.
  • Washing, waxing, and compounding yachts
  • Keep equipment in good operating standards adhering to safety and maintenance standards
  • Clean in and around the boats, prioritizing safety at all times.
  • Perform final finish/detail on deliveries, in- stock and service vessels, including cleaning windows, upholstery, canvas, bilges, fiberglass and wood.
  • Use of high-speed buffers and polishers to properly detail the exterior surfaces.
  • Remove dust, grease and oil from exterior surfaces of boats.
  • Inspect vessels for damage and note repairs to be done.

Work Environment

Work performed indoors and out in a marine environment.  (This includes adverse weather conditions.)

May work at heights in excess of 50 feet and lift heavy equipment or materials up to 75 pounds

Physical Demands

–     Performing General Physical Activities — performing physical activities that require          considerable repetitive use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as

Climbing, lifting, bending, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of heavy materials. Be on your feet for extended periods of time.

  • Handling and Moving Objects — Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving heavy materials, and manipulating things.
  • Controlling Machines and Processes — using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines, tools or processes. 
  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material — Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of problems or defects.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
this is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 7:30a.m. to 4 p.m.

No travel is expected for this position.

Education and Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical and/or electrical background is preferred
  • Experience Yacht detailing is a must.
  • Experience with marine vessels is an essential qualification
  • Experience working around high-end yachts over 100’
