Since joining the Bradford Team in 2010, Ray Lightbourne has strived to become the model employee that exhibits the vision and culture of the company.
For the past 10 years, Ray has progressed thru the ranks, from a Lift Technician where he took on roles of: hauling vessels, underwater salvage repair/recovery, environmental and waste services, tank cleaning, towing and heavy equipment operations, and as a certified Shipyard Competent Person (SCP).
At the start of 2013, Ray was promoted to Assistant Drydock Master, and is certified in Floating Dock Operations thru Heger Drydock Inc., and DM Consulting. He supervises the operation and maintenance of our 1200 ton Floating Drydock. He joined the Project Management team and became an asset with his unique communication skills with the clients and developing experience in the marine repair services. Additionally, he is tasked with overseer of the IT services, where he manages the local network and its hardwares.
In 2015, Ray was then promoted to Assistant Superintendent, where his duties extended to supervising the day-to-day operations of the shipyard at large: coordinating project managements, vessel arrivals and departures, client relations, departmental structuring and fitment, among other tasks.
He serves as an example of an individual who seizes the opportunity to learn and develop a career in this very rewarding field of work.
